Privacy, Stated Plainly

What the server sees

Every request to wir-records.net leaves a trace in the server log: the IP address it came from, the time, the page requested, the browser string. That is ordinary plumbing, not a profile. Logs exist so the site stays up and so faults can be traced; they are kept for a short while and then rotated out. No attempt is made to match a log line to a person.

What you type into a comment

If you leave a comment, the name, the text and whatever contact detail you choose to enter are stored so the comment can appear and so the thread stays readable. Nothing else in the form is harvested. You are not required to use a real name; a working handle is enough.

Analytics and cookies

There is no tracking script counting your scroll depth and no advertising pixel following you to the next site. Basic cookies may be set for session handling and for remembering a comment you have already submitted; those are functional and nothing more. If a future measurement tool is added, it will be described here before it goes live.

What is never done with it

Your data is not sold, rented or handed to list brokers; it is not traded for reach or exposure. It goes to no one whose business is compiling audiences. If a legal request arrives, it will be answered as the law requires and no further.

Removal

You can ask for a comment to be deleted, or for a log entry tied to your address to be purged, and the request will be honoured where it is technically possible. Say what you want removed and how to identify it; vague requests slow everything down.

Where to write

Use the contact page on this site. That is the channel; a message sent there reaches the person who maintains the place. Keep it short and specific, and expect a reply from someone who also has records to finish.
